Built at the intersection of institutional timberland and capital

OUR FOUNDATION

Verdant Natural Capital Partners brings together institutional investment, forestry, capital formation, and natural capital to create long-term value across an evolving investment landscape.

Verdant was founded on the belief that the future of institutional forestry lies in integrating natural capital with the disciplined investment principles that have guided working forests for generations.

Pacific Northwest Josh Yearout VNCP
Verdant believes the future of institutional forestry will not be defined by replacing timber economics, but by integrating natural capital into the disciplined investment framework that has governed working forests for generations. Verdant was founded on that belief.

LEADERSHIP

Josh Yearout

Josh Yearout is the Founder and Managing Partner of Verdant Natural Capital Partners, an advisory firm focused on capital formation, strategic partnerships, and growth across the timberland and natural capital sectors. Josh brings nearly two decades of experience spanning forest operations, institutional investing, private equity, and corporate development. He began his career in institutional timberland investment management, holding roles across forest operations, portfolio analysis and management, acquisitions and dispositions, resource planning, valuation and investor relations.

Josh later joined Copenhagen-based International Woodland Company, now majority-owned by BNP Paribas Asset Management, where he worked on the institutional buy side with global investors across timberland and natural resources. He subsequently joined Kimmeridge, an oil and gas private equity firm, and helped launch Chestnut Carbon. He then served as Vice President at Greenline Climate, a Shell-backed joint venture, where he led business and corporate development.

Josh founded Verdant to bring together his experience across the asset, the manager, and the allocator, helping natural-resource businesses build lasting institutional partnerships and access aligned capital.

He holds a B.S. in Environmental & Natural Resource Policy and a master’s degree in Forest Business Economics from Clemson University.
